Hello ! I am a 17-year-old senior at Sparkman High School with a strong passion for design and problem-solving. I am eager to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. My ambition is to refine my creative abilities, strengthen my technical skills, and gain hands-on experience in the design process. After graduation, I will begin interning with an accredited architectural firm, where I can apply my education to real-world projects and continue learning from experienced professionals. Over time, I aim to earn my professional architecture license, establish myself as a respected architect, and contribute to shaping meaningful, sustainable spaces that have a lasting impact on communities.
I've always loved creating things. Whether it was building with Legos or sculpting out of Play-Doh, my creativity has always been prominent. Architecture fascinates me because it requires this wild creativity and tames it with the rules of science, to effectively solve problems.
Architecture is a blend of art and science, used to make the world a better, safer place. In high school, I primarily focused on math and science classes, while also refining my art skills. Dedication and discipline is the key to success in my future education.
Architecture to me isn't just floor plans and budgets, it’s an art form. When I walk down the street, I don't just see buildings, I see creative expression in the form of geometry. Every window and door was placed for a reason, and I want to understand why.
As an architect, my goal isn't just to make floor plans, but to change lives. I want to show others that architecture is an essential art form. Without architects, our world would have no structure. It gives us shelter, our buildings form, and our mind's space.
I value service and always show dedication toward bettering my local community. Being apart of National Honor Society and Beta club has taught me how meaningful charity and service can be. One specific charity event iv'e recently been involved in was the "Horsepower & Hope Car Show" which raised money for special needs students in schools.
Over the summer, I was given multiple "shadowing" opportunities with local architecture firms in Huntsville. By spending a day in the office, I built professional friendships and gained valuable insight into the career field of architecture. I greatly appreciated Chapman and Sisson's welcoming team showing me what to expect for my future.
My leadership and teamwork skills are a major part of my character. Junior year at Sparkman, I lead a 16-week group project in my engineering class, and successfully presented it to N.A.S.A. engineering officials at UAH. This experience put pride into our school community and bettered me as a student and a leader.
